Captive Ring Open/Close Pliers

Pliers can be used to open and close captive rings. Put ring over pliers to open ring slightly so ball will come out easily. Use inside of pliers to squeeze ring tighter around ball. This tool makes working with captive rings much easier.

These Pliers work best with 22 gauge through 10 gauge captive rings and 1/4” through 3/4” diameter rings

Diameter Guidelines-Rings are measured in a straight line across the inside of the ring. Some items not available in all sizes

  • 1/4" (6mm)-tragus, cartilage*, nose*
  • 5/16" (8mm)-tragus, nose, thin lip, shallow navel, cartilage, lobe, helix, rook and other ear piercings
  • 3/8" (10mm)-lip, cartilage, lobe, helix and other ear piercings, nose, small nipple, shallow navel
  • 7/16" (11mm)-thicker lip, most ear piercings, small nipple, navel
  • 1/2" (12mm)-thicker lip, most ear piercings, small nipple, navel
  • 9/16" (14mm)-ear lobe piercings, nipple, deeper navel
  • 5/8" (16mm)-most common size for nipple, deep navel, ear lobe where larger ring is wanted
  • 3/4" (19mm)-large nipple

    *only if piercing is close to edge of nose or ear
