Gauge is the thickness of the post. Gauges available: 22 gauge-thinnest gauge, thickness of a regular earring 20 gauge-slightly thicker than 22 gauge 18 gauge-thicker than 20 gauge. The gauge most piercers use (but not all) There is a small bulb at the end of these stems. These stems cannot be bent. This item is hand made in the USA.
