Palomar College’s award-winning, student-run newspaper The Telescope recently ran an article on the increasing acceptance of body piercings. Writer Spencer Meyer quizzed several campus body art aficionados about the stereotypes associated with piercings and tattoos — and asked if they sensed a growing acceptability of alternative piercing. While most students acknowledged the necessity of removing their piercings for certain situations, one student summed it up nicely:
“I think they’re becoming a lot more acceptable,” she said. “I see more and more people with piercings in business and everyday work settings. It’s just a different generation.”
What do you think, BodySparklers? Are piercings becoming more acceptable? Tell us in the comments!
